Maine PUC Selects 7 Projects, Including Two Glenvale Projects, for Renewable Energy PPAs
The Maine Public Utility Commission (MPUC) today selected seven renewable energy projects, six new, and one existing, to enter into PPAs with Central Maine Power and Versant Power. The selections were made under the RPS Tranche 2 Procurement, launched in January 2021, and authorized by An Act To Reform Maine’s Renewable Portfolio Standard, P.L. 2019, Chapter 477.
These PPAs will ensure the development and preservation of solar and wind projects in Maine, and will generate many millions of dollars of economic activity in rural communities. The first-year weighted average PPA rate for new projects is $31.29 per megawatt hour, which will save Maine ratepayers while providing economic and environmental impacts.
Glenvale is honored to be the developer of the selected projects. We look forward to working with the MPUC and CMP to execute the PPAs. Glenvale also fully supports the associated Maine PUC order to provide annual reports on project progress, so that the PUC can track the progress of the selected projects.
