Maine PUC Selects 17 Projects, Including Three Glenvale Projects, for Renewable Energy PPAs
The Maine Public Utility Commission (MPUC) today selected seventeen renewable energy projects to enter into PPAs with Central Maine Power and Versant Power. The selections were made under the RPS Tranche 1 Procurement, launched in February 2020, and authorized by An Act To Reform Maine’s Renewable Portfolio Standard, P.L. 2019, Chapter 477.
These PPAs will ensure the development of many new solar and wind projects throughout Maine, will generate many millions of dollars of economic activity in rural communities, and help Maine achieve its clean energy goals. And with average PPA rates beginning at $35 per megawatt hour, the projects will also save Maine ratepayers money.
Glenvale is honored to be the developer of some of the selected projects, and we look forward to working with the MPUC and CMP to execute the PPAs. We are excited to bring clean energy and critical economic development to the communities of Baldwin, Hiram, Buxton and Topsham.
